Come explore the coastal gravel of Southern California with TGIF and Lead Out! We live for the art of adventure and gravel riding. A lot of Southern California folks will argue these are mountain bike trails, but we argue a ride that’s 50% dirt and 50% road is what the adventure is all about. The greatest part about gravel is you’ll never have the right equipment at some point, which is what makes it so amazing! Giordana, Chamois Butt’r and Skratch Labs have teamed up with us to help bring you the Tour de Vert, Laguna Beach edition.
The ride will start on a highly trafficked road for the first 3 miles in Laguna and on PCH at a casual pace before hitting the first dirt segment at mile 4. It is imperative that we all ride no more than two abreast, call things out in the road and listen to the ride leaders. This route is loose, steep, technical and has some big, hard climbs. This will be a perfect way to pre-ride and recon some of this falls Endless Summer ride as the route will use some similar trails and roads.
Once we hit the dirt the effort will be moderate depending on fitness levels as the terrain is steep. Ride at your own pace and we will have two spots to regroup but this is not a no-drop ride. The Ride With GPS route is marked with bathroom, water, food and regroup spots. Please download the route before you come. Let’s look out for each other! This ride is intended to challenge you and be fun, but this is not a race. Technical bike handling skills are recommended.
The route will take around 5 hours with regrouping and traffic lights. We plan to be back to Laguna Beer Co around 2-3pm for drinks and food. Stick around for a raffle to win swag from Giordana, Lead Out!, and Chamois Butt’r. Please pack food, water, hydration, a flat kit and stoke. You must be fully self sufficient for this ride, there will not be any on-ride support
Parking in Laguna Beach can be tricky, so we recommend leaving ample time to park and ride over. There is paid parking available in front of Laguna Beer Co on Frontage Road, another paid lot just to the west and at "Lot 16" in Laguna Canyon.
