This week is a special Women Crush Wednesday to celebrate Summer Solstice and a long awaited sunny Wednesday! It’s the longest day of the year, so let’s dust off the climbing legs and hit the mountains. Join us for a ride up Logan Mill and might as well throw in Chapman at the end.
Meet at 5:30pm at North Boulder Park (near restrooms off Dellwood Ave)
From there, we’ll climb up Sunshine Canyon, to Poorman, 4mile, Logan Mill to Escape Route, then down Sugarloaf to Canyon, up Chapman, then down Flagstaff.
Even with an inconsistent start to WCW this year, we’ve already been blown away by the amazing women who come out to crush. And with the summer finally here, we couldn’t be more excited for more rides, miles, and adventures.
This ride will be a moderate pace and will not be a ‘no-drop’ ride, however, we will have a few re-group spots; at the base of Logan Mill, at the top of Escape Route, and at the top of Chapman. Expect steep climbs (some up to 18%), fast descents, loose, technical dirt, and epic views. If you have never done Logan Mill and Escape Route, this is a challenging climb. We’ll hit 3,700ft of climbing under 25 miles which is a heck of a lot of steep climbing. We’ll descend down Sugarloaf, down Canyon, and just in case you still had some legs left, we’ll climb up Chapman before descending Flagstaff. Most descents will be fast, windy, heavy trafficked canyon roads.
Know the route! We will have a couple spots to regroup, however, this is NOT a ‘no drop’ ride. This ride will require technical bike handling skills and may not be suitable for beginner riders. We will have a leader to guide the group and maintain a moderate pace, but will not have specific sweeps. Make sure you have all the nutrition, water, tools, lights, and gear you need to finish the route.
